Here’s two of my go-to breakfast concoctions.  I recommend using organic ingredients whenever possible in these recipes.

Green Machine Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large banana (frozen or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 1-2 large handfuls kale or spinach
  • 1 handful of ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup goat or almond milk
  • 1/2 cup of orange juice (or use another 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 tsp chia or hemp seeds
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (try to use one that is raw and/or made from natural, organic ingredients without a lot of processing!!)

Note:  I prefer to use frozen fruit as it helps to keep the smoothie really cold and thicken it up!

Directions
Place all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.

  • 1 tsp chia or hemp seeds
  • 1 handful of ice cubes
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder optional
  • 1 handful of kale optional
